“Whale Song” 70×70 cm
€ 330,00“Whale Song” is an evocative union of fluid abstraction and natural realism, bringing together the boundless flow of water and the majestic presence of a whale. Created with layers of inks and acrylic paint, the composition balances undefined, flowing forms with the strength and grace of this ocean giant.
This artwork was born intuitively. After completing the watery, dreamlike background, I felt the canvas calling for life—but I didn’t know which creature until fate intervened. News arrived of a rare whale sighting in Zoutelande, Zeeland—a moment of wonder that inspired this piece.
Whales, particularly humpback whales, are only occasionally seen off the Zeeland coast, making this encounter extraordinary. The painting reflects that sense of rarity and reverence.
Symbolism:
The whale embodies wisdom, inner truth, and spiritual guidance. It is a powerful symbol of depth, emotional strength, harmony, and connection to life’s natural flow. Across cultures, whales represent longevity, the mysteries of the deep, and the eternal cycle of transformation.

The artwork is an abstract impression of the sea. It captures the feeling of being in the water — surrounded, embraced, and gently held by the sea. However, the interpretation is open to the viewer. This is one of the beautiful qualities of abstract art: you can see and feel whatever speaks to you.
The painting is fully finished with a professional glossy varnish, which enhances the colours and protects the surface. It is discreetly signed with my initials on the front and signed in full on the back.
A hanging wire is attached, so the artwork is ready to hang. The edges are painted and varnished in black, giving the painting a finished appearance and allowing it to be displayed with or without a frame.

“Waves of Night Sea” 30×50 cm

Each wave is hand-sculpted using specialty fabric, modeling pastes, and layers of gesso, then carefully polished for a smooth yet dimensional finish. The surface is painted with multiple layers of holographic chameleon acrylics, shifting between deep navy blue and iridescent purple, creating an enchanting play of light.
