“When the Sea Dances” is a large-scale original painting that explores the meeting point between material presence and subtle luminosity. The surface is built up through an intricate structural foundation using different texture pastes, creating a richly varied, tactile seascape.

Multiple layers of acrylic paint are applied to achieve depth and quiet complexity, allowing light and shadow to interact across the surface. The composition is completed with soft metallic golden tones, delicately integrated to add warmth and a restrained, luminous finish without overpowering the natural rhythm of the work.

The painting is signed on the reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It is currently on display at the Hilton Hotel in Rotterdam.

I have consciously chosen to no longer place my signature on the front of my paintings. Once a work enters a new home, it becomes part of the collector’s personal space, their story, and their interpretation. By keeping the signature discreetly on the back, the artwork is free to speak on its own—allowing for an intimate and uninterrupted connection between the piece and its viewer.
