Volcanic lakes no. 1

This piece is a unique blend of painting and sculpture, created on a 40×40 cm deep-edge canvas. The composition is inspired by a natural landscape of volcanic lakes. I’m fascinated by those kind of landcapes that evoke in me awe and inspiration, I love the calm of a turquoise pools nestled within earthy surroundings. I coated the pools in a layer of clear resin, giving them a reflective, water-like shine that adds depth and realism. Thick, layered textures cover the canvas, meticulously built up with dozens of thin layers of acrylic paint, creating a sense of rugged terrain surrounding the serene water.

The color palette draws from nature, blending cool tones of blues, greens, and earthy beiges with the warm, inviting turquoise of the water. A hint of gold accents the edges, enhancing the piece with a subtle gleam. The edges of the canvas are painted in dark earthy tones, giving the work a sense of continuity and framing. Finally, the entire piece is varnished for durability, preserving the layered textures and colors.

Overall, this work captures the beauty of natural elements through texture, color, and shine, inviting the viewer into a quiet, reflective moment in nature.
